Budapest is the capital of Hungary and the largest city in East-Central Europe. Nowadays nearly all branches of industry can be found in Budapest. Main branches include communication engineering and computer appliances, electric machines and incandescent lamps. Pharmaceutical industry is also important. The city is the centre of financial, commercial and estate services. Trade and logistic services are also well-developed. Budapest is host to many headquarters of national and international corporations which have their production sites elsewhere in Hungary.
